I often get asked if you need to bring an ICD-10-PCS book to the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) exam. The short answer is no, this book is not permitted. Since the CPC exam is for certified professional coders, the type of coding involved is professional coding. Professional coding uses CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS, but it does not involve ICD-10-PCS.
